Weather Blues: This cold weather is sure making it tough to grow anything but mud! We need sunshine with light rain at night! Is that too much to ask?
Fert: We have been authorized to fertilize the fairways, tees, collars, bunker and green surrounds. This should help with smooth up the fairways and decrease the muddy lies. We hope to fit it in this week sometime.
An Army of One: Our progress on the cart path on #18 continues. If it isn't too muddy, we should get the gravel installed and compacted this week. Paving will then be scheduled as soon as possible.
Teed Off: The new tee on #3 will be shaped as soon as the cart path is ready of asphalt, keeping in mind that we must still do our daily chores as well - you know, all that pesky mowing, raking and cutting!
The Range: This is just an update. No final plans or decisions have been made. Your Board is currently looking at plans for a driving range that would modify the Cameron but doing so in a way that is in keeping with its character by utilizing push-up greens of similar size and shape to the existing Cameron greens. The range would be built where #1 and #9 Cameron are currently located. The preliminary work is being done to try and estimate the cost for this plan. The financial goal seems to be to keep the costs somewhere between $500,000 and $750,000. Obviously, the lower the price, the better. Stop by to take a look at the most recent drawing, and let us know what you think. They were done in-house, so they are not professional CAD type drawings. Keep in mind that to replace existing net will cost somewhere around $100,000 when the short poles are replaced (which is necessary), so the cost to "stay the same" is not zero.

On the tournament front we have quite a number of events coming up in the next few weeks...

*The KOFI Charity Scramble is on Sunday, June 13th, be sure and get your team entered in this annual team event.
*The KGA Club Championship is on the weekend of June 26th & 27th , first major stroke play event of the year!!
*The Ladies Invitational is on Wednesday, June 23rd , entry forms are online on in the clubhouse.
*The US Kids Golf National Qualifier will be on Tuesday, June 15th , this is a great opportunity for competition for your junior golfer aged 6 to 14.

As you can see there is great competition opportunities available for BHGC golfers of all ages!!
In the Pro Shop there is great new merchandise arriving every week! Be sure and come by and check it out, we have excellent selection and prices for all the latest golf gear and clothing. The Memorial Day Sale was very successful, be sure and watch out for our future sales. We will have another "outdoor sale" in the next couple of weeks, which will feature some deep discounts on all kinds of goods!!
Thanks to everyone for taking care of the course when you play. Simple things like fixing ball marks, repairing divots and operating your motor cart safely, all make a big difference for course conditions and overall enjoyment of BHGC!! Also we appreciate your responsible use of tee times. By showing up on time and checking in with the Pro Shop or Starter keeps play moving at a great pace. Plus canceling tee times that you don't need, as soon as possible, allows us the chance to give that time to another group!! Good job and thanks for your help making BHGC the best place to play.
Tip of the week:
Spend your practice time wisely to get the most out of your game. To play your best you need to practice your short game (100 yards and in) twice as much as your long game. Keep your full swing in tune as needed, but focus on wedge play and putting to lower your scores. Saving strokes around and on the green will drop your handicap the quickest and keep it there!!
See you on the course,

This week's congratulations go to Ken Jones. Ken is the winner of this week's free lunch, compliments of Buffalo Hill. Ken was up for lunch and dropped his business card along with his E Mail address in the jar and now he is the winner of a free lunch. WAY TO GO KEN! That's all you have to do to be a winner, or just leave your business card on the table and your waitress will deposit it for you.
You league players, the ladies & the men, are in for a real treat this week as Jake will be out on the BBQ broiling you those juicy Buffalo Hill Burgers or if you would rather have a tender chicken breast sandwich, they will also be available. Jake will also be serving his homemade baked beans, potato salad, pasta salad, watermelon and a tossed salad? I'd say it is well worth sticking around for. Remember the food service is yours to enjoy, so make it a point to join your teammates before or after your round of golf and have a great meal. Just as last year, there will be food service available before
and after league, and it is open to the PUBLIC. Our regular menu is available until 7:30 P.M., after that you're welcome to enjoy BBQ on Tuesday or Thursday. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE A LEAGUE PLAYER TO ENJOY A GREAT MEAL. SO PLEASE COME ON UP TO BUFFALO HILL AND JOIN IN THE FUN AND HAVE A GREAT MEAL.
