Good morning golfers!

Well, it looks like this may be the week we've all been so patiently waiting for! High temperatures for the end of the week are predicted to approach 70 degrees, so be sure to call the pro shop to schedule your tee time.

The Long Range Planning Committee continues to work hard at finding solutions to the driving range. We'll provide the membership an update as the Board moves forward.

Enjoy a spectacular week at BHGC!

From the Golf Course

Sunny: We made ZERO progress last week aerifying the troubled newer greens due to the cold and wet weather. We will try again this week. We will also add seed to these thinning greens.

Light Sand Less Filling: We will try to fit in a light topdressing Monday weather permitting.

More Seed: Seeding of the winter damaged areas will continue this week.

D Ranged: The Committees continues to consider our options for the driving range.

Trees: We hope to replace the dead trees this week if the weather cooperates.

*BHGC is proud to be hosting  a US Kids Golf National Qualifier on June 15th for junior players aged 6 to 14. This is a great opportunity for competition with other juniors from around the region and a chance to qualify for the national event in Pinehurst , NC!! Go to www.uskidsgolf.com to learn more and register.

*The Friday Night Mixers have begun, pick up your schedule of events for the 2010 season at the clubhouse or online at the BHGC website. Great fun and social events twice each month!!

*Be sure and start getting your team ready for the KOFI Scramble coming up June 13th. This classic event is a fun tradition here at BHGC. The entry form for the event along with all the 2010 entry forms are available on the BHGC website or at the clubhouse.

*The Pro Shop is continuing the Moms Day Sale through Thursday!! The entire stock of inventory is now at 20% OFF!! Stop by and check out the great prices on all of the latest gear for your game.

*All of the leagues are now under way. Mens League, Tuesday Morning Ladies League, Tuesday Evening Ladies League and Semitool League are all now playing their weekly schedules. Check with Marlin or Dave if you have any questions on league play.

*MSGA handicaps are now being updated twice per month. New indexes will be published on the 15th and last day of every month through October.  Be sure and check your handicap out on the main bulletin board in the clubhouse or online at www.msgagolf.com . Remember if you have not renewed your handicap for 2010, to do so any time in the Pro Shop. Also when turning in your scorecards for posting, be sure and have your full name legible on the card, plus a totaled 18 hole score.

Tip of the week:

Watch your divots to check your swing path. Keep an eye on the size, direction and depth of your divots to help better understand your swing. A nice even depth divot about the size of a playing card that is pointing at your target is ideal for most level lie shots. If your divots are too deep, too large or not pointing at your target, it is a sign of a swing path that is out of alignment. Check your setup and be sure you are in a position to swing the club down the target line in balance. Over swinging with a hard tempo is the easiest way to have problems with impact and thus bad divots or no divots at all!!

This weeks congratulations go to Paula Pervias. Paula is the winner of this weeks free lunch, compliments of Buffalo Hill. Paula was up for lunch and dropped her business card along with her E-Mail address in the jar and now she is the winner of a free lunch. WAY TO GO PAULA! Thats all you have to do to be a winner, or just leave your business card on the table and your waitress will deposit it for you.

The most exciting news of the week is that on Wednesday the 12th of May, Chef Jim is going to introduce a new menu for all of us to enjoy. You cant believe the new entrys he has come up. Here is a small sampling of some of the new sandwiches, salads & burgers we have to look forward to. In the sandwich & wrap department there will be an Albacore Italiano (warmed Albacore tuna, provolone cheese, red onion, tomato, crisp pancetta & Romaine lettuce on a focaccia round), as Veggie sandwich, a Greek or Philly Wrap or how about a Crispy Chicken Ranch Wrap. Now for you burger fanatics, not to worry, Jim has you taken care of. How about one of these? The Alpine Burger (saut'e mushrooms, avocado, Swiss cheese & red pepper mayo), a Hole in One Burger (topped with grilled ham, smoked bacon & cheddar), a Tuscany Burger (Roma tomatoes, sliced avocado, mozzarella cheese on Focaccia). New for you salad lovers, there is a warm spinach salad or an Albacore tuna tomato salad. Any one of these plus all of the other menu items should hit the spot, so make the trip to Buffalo Hill and enjoy an outstanding lunch.

The Ladies League players (and everyone else who would like to participate) are in for a real treat this week. This Tuesday Jake is going to have an Oriental Night. You will be treated egg rolls, sweet & sour pork, stir fried veggies & rice. Sounds very inviting to me, so come on in after your round of golf and let us do the cooking for you. I say you owe it to yourself. For the men, this Thursday will be Burger & Chicken Night. Yes those juicy Buffalo Hill Burgers served with baked beans, potato salad and all of the other favorite trimmings. Remember the food service is yours to enjoy, so make it a point to join your teammates before or after your round of golf and have a great meal while you watch one of the NBA playoff games on the big screen TVs. Just as last year, there will be food service available before and after league, and it is OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. Our regular menu is available until 7:30 P.M., after that youre welcome to enjoy the salad bar on Tuesday or the Steak BBQ on Thursday. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE A LEAGUE PLAYER TO ENJOY A GREAT MEAL. SO PLEASE COME ON UP TO BUFFALO HILL AND JOIN IN THE FUN AND HAVE A GREAT MEAL.

Dont forget HAPPY HOUR is also being offered again this year. So remember every Monday, Wednesday & Saturday, Happy Hour will be from 5 PM -7 PM. Domestic Drafts will be $1.00, $5.00 Domestic Pitchers, $2.00 Domestic Beer & Well Drinks.
