Good morning golfers!

To say we've had a bit of a cool spring may be an understatement.  Due to cold weather this past week, we were forced to cancel ladies league, ladies clinics, men's league, and experienced delays in turf maintenance.  Unfortunately, it doesn't appear that this week is going to get too much warmer, but don't let the cool weather interfere with enjoying the great gameof  golf!  A warm layer and good rain gear (Dave and Marlin would love to see you) makes al the difference in the world!

Enjoy your week, and remember MOTHER'S DAY is THIS SUNDAY!!  Show her you care; take her to the golf course for breakfast and a game of golf on the Cameron 9 or Championship 18!  I can guarantee she'll love it...and all because of you!

Have a great week!

Be- Holed:   We will be aerifying your newest greens (#12,13,16,17,18) with very small tines (quad-tines) when the weather and time permits.  If possible, we will also light topdress.  We will repeat these processes until the anaerobic conditions within these greens are eliminated.

Teed Off:  Your Board of Directors has approved the construction of 2 new forward tees on #3 champ from the excavated materials from #18 cart path.

Yuck:  What a yucky spring, but it is better than a late winter!  The lack of sunshine has limited our ability to push the greens for more speed.  When the weather improves...............!

Movement:  We are making progress on getting the City involved in solving the erosion problems on the Stillwater.

Seeding:  We have begun to seed the winter damaged areas in the fairways.  Now all we need is sunshine!

The entry deadline for the new Flathead Valley 2 Person Match Play Shootouthas been extended to allow more teams to enter.  This is a great new format for an event here at BHGC, so be sure and stop by the Pro Shop and get your team entry in ASAP.  We plan to start matches as soon as we have reached enough teams to format the "win and advance, lose and you are out" competition!

Also be sure and check out the BHGC website www.golfbuffalohill.com for all of your competition entry forms, schedules and information.  Just go to the tournament link and print off all the entry forms from there.

We are also very excited to announce that Burch's Photo Digital will continue their sponsorship of the annual Labor Day Tournament.  This will be the 73rd year of this exciting, international stroke play event!  Look for your entry form in the mail very soon or online at the BHGC website.

Thanks to everyone for being helpful when you are on the golf course!  Not only are you watching out with all of the wet conditions, being safe with your motor carts, but you are letting us know if there are players who are not.  Thanks again for being our extra eyes and ears on the course!!

The starting booth is open for the season (weather permitting), so feel free to check in at the booth before your round.  We will operate the booth from 7:00am to 2:00pm daily.

We plan to hold our final Free Ladies Clinic this Wednesday at 6:00pm.  The weather has not cooperated with us very well, but we will give it another try this week!!  Be sure and come out for a fun, relaxing and informative class!  Equipment will be provided for those who may need it.  No registration is necessary, just show up and learn!!

Tip of the week:

How to play your best in cold, wet weather.  Not a very fun topic, but one that we have to deal with from time to time.

First of all take time to warm up properly, muscle strain is very easy in these type of conditions.  Next take the proper equipment with you, extra dry towels, umbrella, extra golf gloves, winter gloves or mittens and good raingear!!  If you have a motor cart a hot beverage and a heater will make the conditions seem more bearable as well.  Lastly play smart by taking extra club if you are in doubt of what to hit, cold and wet make the ball fly shorter, so adjust your thinking there.

If you prepare and deal with the conditions properly your enjoyment and your score will both improve!!

This week's congratulations go to Lynn St. Pierre.  Lynn is the winner of this week's free lunch, compliments of Buffalo Hill.  Lynn was up for lunch and dropped his business card along with his E Mail address in the jar and now he is the winner of a free lunch.  WAY TO GO LYNN!  That's all you have to do to be a winner, or just leave your business card on the table and your waitress will deposit it for you.

The Ladies League players (and everyone else who would like to participate) are in for a real treat this Tuesday.  Jim and Jake are going to set up the carving station and serve the oven roasted beef, ham & turkey deli sandwiches, including a tossed green salad, a fruit salad plus a baked ham and cheese pasta dish.  Sounds very inviting to me, so come on in after your round of golf and let us do the cooking for you.  I say you owe it to yourself.

For the men on Thursday, Jim is going to fire up the BBQ and do "Steak & Spaghetti" along with a tossed salad, garlic toast and watermelon, so pray for sunshine as we certainly don't need any more rainouts.    Remember the food service is yours to enjoy, so make it a point to join your teammates before or after your round of golf and have a great meal while you watch one of the NBA playoff games on the big screen TV's.  Just as last year, there will be food service available before and after league, and it is open to the PUBLIC. Our regular menu is available until 7:30 P.M., after that you're welcome to enjoy the salad bar on Tuesday or the Steak BBQ on Thursday. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE A LEAGUE PLAYER TO ENJOY A GREAT MEAL. SO PLEASE COME ON UP TO BUFFALO HILL AND JOIN IN THE FUN AND HAVE A GREAT MEAL.

Don't forget   "HAPPY HOUR" is also being offered again this year.   So remember every Monday, Wednesday & Saturday, Happy Hour will be from 5 PM -7 PM.  Domestic Drafts will be $1.00, $5.00 Domestic Pitchers, $2.00 Domestic Beer & Well Drinks.
