Good morning,

Wow!  What a fabulous weekend we had here in the beautiful Flathead Valley!  Hope you all enjoyed a great weekend on the links.

Just a quick reminder that the annual meeting is this Wednesday, April 21, at 6:00p.m., here at the clubhouse. The Driving Range is the main topic for discussion, so please plan to attend and participate in shaping the future.  Your Board of Directors are reporting back to you from last year's annual meeting to "find a fix for the driving range".  They now have options for the membership to consider and will be looking for your input and direction.  Thank you for taking an interest in this very important matter.

In an effort to keep the meeting to a manageable time frame, the Board encourages all members to come up to take a look at the driving range options on display in the clubhouse.  Also, copies of the audited financial statements are also available now.  Please pick up a copy in the main office, and feel free to see me prior to the annual meeting about any questions or additional detail you'd like to see.  We're here to serve you!

Have a great week - we look forward to seeing you Wednesday at 6.:00p.m.

Informational Swap Meet:   See you at the Annual Meeting on Wednesday evening at 6:00pm!

Still Digging:  We are still repairing the irrigation system, but most of the work is now in the river bottom and on the bench top holes.

Too Cold:  It is too cold to begin seeding the fairways, but we will begin as soon as it warms up to 50 degrees soil temperature which is tough to obtain when the irrigation water is about 40 degrees.

Restrooms Open: We will be opening the restrooms on the course this week.  We will wait a little longer to turn on the drinking fountains due to freezing risks.

Washers:  We will be filling the balls washers this week.

And On and On:  We will continue to aerify the fairways and tees.

Spring has arrived here at BHGC!!  It is great to have some warmer temperatures to play golf in.

Men's league started last Thursday evening with beautiful weather and lots of smiles going around.  Ladies league will begin on Tuesday, April 20th with a rules seminar by Marlin, the following Tuesday play begins with a 5:30pm shotgun start.  Semitool league will begin on Wednesday, May 5th at 5:45pm on the Cameron 9.

Be sure to mark your calendar  for  Friday, May 7th as this is the first "Friday Night Mixer" of the year, starting at 5:00pm on the Cameron 9.  Get your partner and sign up the week before in the Pro Shop.  Fun formats throughout the year, check the entire mixer schedule at the BHGC website www.golfbuffalohill.com under the tournament link.

More competition news is that the first annual Flathead Valley 2 Person Match Play Shootout will begin in May and continue throughout the summer for the teams that advance.  This is a chance for you to get a partner and play net best ball match play format against other 2 person teams.  Win your match and advance to the next round, just like the NCAA basketball tourney!!  Entry forms are on the BHGC website or posted throughout the clubhouse, check it out!!

Lots of tournament news this week,  the 2010 MSGA tournament schedule is now out, complete with entry forms and information about the Men's Mid-Am, State Am, State Junior qualifiers and other club events all over the state.  Be sure and pick up a paper copy of the schedule in the clubhouse or go to the state website www.msgagolf.com for all the information.

Lastly  BHGC will be hosting a US Kids Qualifier on June 15th.  This is a event open to all junior golfers age 6 thru 14, where winning their age group with a qualifying score allows them to advance to the US Kids World Championships in Pinehurst, NC!!  What a great opportunity for the young tournament players!!  Go to www.uskidsgolf.com for information on how to register!!

If you have not had the chance to come in to the Pro Shop, please stop by and check out all the new  merchandise.  We are well stocked with all of the latest goodies and at GREAT PRICES!!  We will save you $$$, so check us out before you decide to buy.  Remember we have demo clubs of many of the new styles of equipment for you to try before you buy!!  Plus if we don't have it in stock we will be happy to special order any item.

Tip of the week:

If you are having some trouble being consistent with your shots, check your setup before you start to adjust your swing.  A proper setup gives you a much better chance to hit a good shot, "your swing can only be as good as your setup"!!  Just because you mishit a shot doesn't necessarily mean a bad swing.  Look for a well balanced, athletic posture, a decent grip, centered ball position off of the turf (slightly more towards your front foot off of the tee with a driver) and lastly good alignment at your target.  If you have these things in place a good swing and consistent shot will happen more often!

See you on the course,

Dave, Marlin & Mike

This week's drum roll goes to John Hansen.  John is this week's winner of the free lunch, compliments of Buffalo Hill.  John was up for lunch and dropped his business card along with his E Mail address in the jar and now he is the winner of a free lunch.  WAY TO GO JOHN!  That's all you have to do to be a winner, or just leave your business card on the table and your waitress will deposit it for you.

A great big hearty"Thank You "goes out you to all of you Men's League players that supported the BBQ last week.   There was a good turnout, but we always room for more.  This Thursday Jim is going to set up the carving station and serve the Deli sandwiches (oven roasted ham, beef & turkey on a fresh deli roll with salads and all of the other trimmings).  Remember the food service is yours to enjoy, so make it a point to join your teammates before or after your round of golf and have a great meal while you watch one of the NBA playoff games on the big screen TV's.  Just as last year, there will be food service available before and after league, and it is open to the PUBLIC. Our regular menu is available until 7:30 P.M., after that you're welcome to enjoy the sandwich buffet. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE A LEAGUE PLAYER TO ENJOY A GREAT MEAL. SO PLEASE COME ON UP TO BUFFALO HILL AND JOIN IN THE FUN AND HAVE A GREAT MEAL.

Don't forget   "HAPPY HOUR" is also being offered again this year.   So remember every Monday, Wednesday & Saturday, Happy Hour will be from 5 PM -7 PM.  Domestic Drafts will be $1.00, $5.00 Domestic Pitchers, $2.00 Domestic Beer & Well Drinks.

As always we're looking forward to seeing you at Buffalo Hill.
