Good morning,

First, thank you for all your interest in the driving range plans.  In preparation for the April 21 annual meeting, the display area in the clubhouse will remain set up for your review.  If you plan to attend the meeting, your Board of Directors encourages you to study the various options and ask questions in order to better understand the project.

In addition, copies of the audited financial statement are available in the main office for your inspection.  Stacy is happy to supply you with a copy that you can keep.  If you have any questions or would like additional information that is not included in the audit report, please feel free to contact me - I'm happy to help in any way.  We're hopeful to have as many questions addressed before the meeting in order to devote significant time to the driving range.

Just a reminder that the April 21 annual meeting will also include a presentation by the Flathead Community Foundation FCF).  Nancy Davis, a director with the FCF will present the program and explain the relationship between the FCF and Buffalo Hill Golf Course.

Finally, we've had several inquiries regarding nominations for service on the KGA Board of Directors.  Remember, any current (adult) KGA member may be nominated from the floor at the annual meeting.  Any additional names offered at this time will join the list of nominations submitted by the committee.  A vote to elect three directors will then take place.  Thank you to all our members who have expressed an interest in serving.

Have a great week playing golf!

From the Golf Course

Cold and Colder:   While we may have opened earlier that "'usual," the weather since then

hasn't been inspirational; consequently, we have not seen much greening, nor growth.  As soon as it warms up, we will begin to seed areas in the fairways that were damaged last winter.

Irritation:  We continue to repair numerous irrigation problems.  We wonder, as do you,

why we have so many breaks each year.  We have concluded that the breaks are

related to frost heaving and not water in the pipes.  The typical broken part is the

90-degree fitting at the bottom of the head, and the leak is always in the threaded

area of the PVC fitting where the plastic is thinnest.  We do not have any cure for

these problems, so it dig, dig dig – rats!

Pokey:  We have continued to aerify those remaining fairways and tees but the weather has limited our progress.

Driving Range:  By now, many of you have seen the driving range plans posted in the clubhouse, and we look forward to the discussion at the annual meeting.  If you have any questions you would like answered before the meeting, just give us a call – 756-4556.

Ireland:  Jon Heselwood and family were in Britain and Ireland for the past 2 weeks.  Jon played several of the well known courses:  St Andrews, Carnoustie, Waterville, and Ballybunion.  Thank you for allowing Jon the time off during this very busy period of time, and thank you to Polly and the crew for picking up the slack!  It was a great trip, and very special to play the oldest courses in the world!

I hope everyone is enjoying "'Masters Week" by not only following the tournament in Augusta, but also getting out and playing some golf here at BHGC.  Seeing the PGA Tour professionals play the game on such a high level and at such a beautiful location really gives a person the golf bug!

Thanks to everyone for being understanding during the cool, frosty mornings lately.  So that no damage is done to the turf on the course, we do need to wait until the frost is gone before starting play.  Before long the frosty mornings will be gone and we will be able to start play on time each day.  Right now we start play at 8:00am (with no frost) and book tee times at 8:00am, on Monday, April 26th we will start play at 8:00am and book tee times at 7:00am as well.

This week we will have our first Free Ladies Clinic on Wednesday the 14th.  Instruction for all lady golfers from beginner to advanced will start at 6:00pm.  Equipment will be provided for those who may need it.  Also beginning this week on Thursday is Men's League.  Their play kicks off with a 5:30pm shotgun start on both the Cameron 9 and Champ 18.

Handicap scores are now being accepted for posting.  A few reminders to help keep your handicap current:

*Fee of $25 for the season needs to be paid at the Pro Shop or BHGC office (juniors under the age of 18 are free).

*Turn cards in to drop box in main clubhouse.

*Legible full names on scorecards.

*Indicate which tees were played.

*Scores totaled and adjusted.

*Date and attest cards.

The MSGA, who administers the handicap program, plans to have (2) revisions per month on the handicaps.  This will mean a more current handicap index for everyone.  So turn in all your cards, regardless where you play, to keep your handicap as accurate as possible.  You can check out your handicap online by going to the MSGA website www.msgagolf.com , or by looking at the printouts in the main clubhouse.  If you want a handicap card please request one in the Pro Shop.

Junior Achievement Award

Be sure to submit your nominations by May 12.  This award recognizes juniors with a FREE GOLF PASS for the season, and up to 5 are selected each year!  For more information, call the pro shop or see the April 2010 regular newsletter www.golfbuffalohill.com.

Tip of the week:

Play all of your rounds according to the rules.  Many times golfers will play casual rounds with "'mulligans",  "'gimmies" and other rules violations.  To get a true result from your round, hole all of your putts, play the ball as it lies and follow procedures as required by the rules.  Playing by the rules and understanding the rules will save you as many or more strokes than it costs you.  Pick up a rule book and keep it in your golf bag.  You will be amazed how it will help your game!

See you on the course,

Dave, Marlin & Mike

Congratulations go to Dustin Hinzman.  Dustin is this week's winner of the free lunch, compliments of Buffalo Hill.  Dustin was up for lunch and dropped his business card along with his E Mail address in the jar and now he is the winner of a free lunch.  WAY TO GO DUSTIN!  That's all you have to do to be a winner, or just leave your business card on the table and your waitress will deposit it for you.

The big news of the week is that MEN'S LEAGUE STARTS THIS THURSDAY!!!  This also means that Jim will have the BBQ fired up for you to enjoy one of those great juicy burgers or a broiled chicken sandwich that we have been craving all winter long.  Just as last year, there will be food service available before and after league, and it is open to the PUBLIC. Our regular menu is available until 7:30 P.M., after that you're welcome to enjoy the BBQ. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE A LEAGUE PLAYER TO ENJOY A GREAT MEAL. SO PLEASE COME ON UP TO BUFFALO HILL AND JOIN IN THE FUN AND HAVE A GREAT MEAL.

Don't forget   "'HAPPY HOUR" is also being offered again this year.   So remember every Monday, Wednesday & Saturday, Happy Hour will be from 5 PM -7 PM.  Domestic Drafts will be $1.00, $5.00 Domestic Pitchers, $2.00 Domestic Beer & Well Drinks.

As always we're looking forward to seeing you at Buffalo Hill,
