Good morning!

WELCOME BACK EVERYBODY!  Buffalo Hill's 2010 season officially kicks off today with the Cameron 9 opening at 9:00, carts are also good to go!  The crew worked hard this weekend removing covers from the Championship 18 and preparing the Cameron for this morning!  We'll announce the opening of the Championship 18 as soon as possible as the crew makes their way around preparing the course for play.

We're looking forward to a great season filled with life-long memories.  If there is anything we can do for you, please do not hesitate to let us know - we're here to serve YOU!

Finally, just a reminder that the KGA annual meeting is Wednesday, April 21, at 6:00.  You'll also receive an annual meeting notice in the mail by April 5.  The notice  will announce the business meeting agenda and other important information about the meeting.  All paid members are encouraged to attend!

We're looking forward to seeing you!!

From the Golf Course

Green Side Up:   We have removed all the greens covers except the 2 on the nurseries, and the vast majority of the greens came through the winter in great shape!  Most fairways look good as well with some ice damage on #10 and #11 fairways.

Cameron Open:  The Cameron opens today and we hope to get the champ open this weekend.  Welcome back!

Practice Practice:  We continue to work on the driving range plans with more info to be presented at the Annual Meeting.

Gaping:  Behind #7 champ green, a large area of land has disappeared from erosion.  Please stay back!

Chain Up:  For those of you who play this week, please try to avoid the ice covered shaded areas.  Driving on the ice won’t cause damage, but the soil around the perimeter of the ice is still very wet and soft and this is where traffic can cause damage.

Riding the Pine:  The new light-weight benches are on their way out onto the course today.

From the Golf Shop

Welcome to the 2010 golf season at Buffalo Hill G.C.!!  We are very excited about getting an early start, March golf is always a bonus!

A few helpful tips for the season start up:

*We will be running the Cameron 9 “first come, first serve” per normal.  No tee times required, with a 9:00am start during March.

*When we open the Champ 18 we will return to our normal (3) day advance tee time system.  To start the year, we will reserve tee times beginning at 8:00am by phone (756-4530) or in person at the Pro Shop.  On April 26th we will move that time to 7:00am through August.

*Check-in will be in the Pro Shop with your member card, punch cards or green fees.  We will open the Starting Booth a little later this spring.  If you did not keep your member card from 2009, please stop by the Pro Shop and we will issue you a new card for your 2010 season pass.

*Motor carts will be allowed, please watch out for wet or frozen areas on the course.  Think safety and good course conditions when using your motor cart.

*Most of all, make 2010 a enjoyable year!!

When you come by the Pro Shop to start your golf season out, be sure and check out the new golf merchandise we are receiving daily.  Lots of great new apparel and equipment to make your game better!  Remember, we will always give you the best price and service possible.

Tip of the week:

Start your new season out by beginning a habit of proper warm up before you play.  Avoid pulled, sore muscles by stretching and making several slow practice swings before you hit any shots.  Once you are loose hit some putts and short shots, working your way up to a full swing.  Your game and your body will thank you.

See you on the course,

Dave,  Marlin & Mike

From the Food & Beverage Department

Can you believe that winter has left has left us?  Now a beautiful Montana spring is upon us.   I know it makes the skiers frown, but it sure puts a big smile on all of the faces of golfers.   We sincerely want to welcome you all back and thank all of you who supported the Food & Beverage Dept. throughout the winter.  Whether it was for a lunch with your friends, a Christmas Party, or any other celebration you attended over the winter, it was all greatly appreciated and we are  looking forward to seeing more of you this summer.

Getting back into the swing of things, it’s time to start the drawings for the weekly FREE LUNCH.  The first winner of the season for a free lunch at Buffalo Hill is Dennis Beams.  Dennis was up for lunch and dropped his business card along with his E Mail address in the jar, and now he is the winner of a free lunch.  WAY TO GO DENNIS!  That’s all you have to do to be a winner, or just leave your business card on the table and your waitress will deposit it for you.

Also “HAPPY HOUR” will also be offered again this year.   So remember, every Monday, Wednesday & Saturday, Happy Hour will be from 5 PM -7 PM where Domestic Drafts will be $1.00, just $5.00 Domestic Pitchers, and $2.00 Domestic Beer & Well Drinks.  What a great reason to have a refreshing beverage with your friends after a round of golf.

WELCOME BACK SPECIAL!

Come up to the clubhouse and enjoy HAPPY HOUR and watch the NCAA Basketball Tournament on our Big Screens - this Friday and Saturday, March 26 & 27, (we have a private party on Thursday) and again for the FINAL FOUR on Saturday, April 3, and for the Championship Game on Monday, April 5.  What a great clubhouse atmosphere to have some fun with friends and family!  Please join us - we'd love to see you!

As always we’re looking forward to seeing you at Buffalo Hill,

B J Newgard
