Good morning!

Well, I guess one might say that we had an incredible September, but a very cold and challenging October!  We missed the beautiful color changes due to the mid-month freeze, but maybe that's just to keep us appreciating natures gifts!  We'll enjoy the fall season and autumn colors even more next fall.

Remember, on November 3 to vote YES! to renew the Buffalo Hill Golf Course lease agreement.  It's imperative that this ballot issue passes - for the benefit of golfers and the community at large.   Please pass this message on to your fellow city voters, and for all of us that do not live within the city limits, we can still help by passing on the information that NO TAXPAYER dollars are provided for the operation of the golf course.  The golf course is funded only by revenues generated by the operations at Buffalo Hill.

Finally, THANK YOU to all our members and guests for making 2009 a successful season!  We are truly thankful for your support, and we look forward to serving you in 2010!  Our fees and rates for next season have been set by your Board of Directors - no increases.  For more information, please visit our website www.golfbuffalohill.com where all newsletters are now posted!

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to give me a call, or stop by for a visit!

From the Golf Course

Neither Wind, Nor Rain, Nor Sleet - The weather forecast doesn't look promising, but we will be trying to cover the greens Monday and Tuesday.  We will persevere!

Wow! - During the budget process for next year, a cart path on #18 is planned, and so we went ahead and cut the sod from the new path to use it along the path on #17 saving at least $1,000 in sod costs.

Finale? - After the covers are installed, we typically close that week.  So this looks like week will be the end of a great season.  Thank you for all your support and kind words of encouragement!

From the Golf Shop

Here it is almost Halloween, that means the end of a great golfing season.  But just because the course is being put to bed for the winter doesn't mean activity stops here at BHGC.

The clubhouse will stay open throughout the winter with the food & beverage department offering their awesome lunches and great parties.  The Pro Shop will also be available throughout the winter for any of your golfing needs.  Remember the holidays are just around the corner!

The main message we would like to send out this week is THANK YOU!!  Your ongoing support of BHGC and the Pro Shop is very much appreciated by us.  We will continue to work at earning your patronage through the best possible customer service and best possible prices we can offer!!

Tip of the week:

Keep your head steady, swing smooth and remember how blessed we are to have a great facility to enjoy the awesome game of golf!

See you on the course,

Dave, Marlin & Mike

From the Food & Beverage Department

This week's congratulations go to Jeff Roper.  Jeff is this week's winner of the FREE lunch at Buffalo Hill.  Jeff was up for lunch and dropped his business card along with his E Mail address in the jar and now he is the winner of a free lunch.  WAY TO GO JEFF!  That's all you have to do to be a winner, or just leave your business card on the table and your waitress will deposit it for you.

Starting this week, the restaurant will be going to the winter schedule, which will be Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM until 2:00 PM.  We certainly have appreciated all the support you have given the Food & Beverage Dept. all summer long and now we ask that you don't forget about us this winter.  As I said last week, Jon & his crew were kind enough to bring the winters firewood over, so now you can relax in front of the fire and enjoy one of Jim's great lunch specials.

Once again, one more  friendly reminder, don't forget that Christmas will be here before we know it so if you haven't made arrangements  for your Christmas Party, luncheon or holiday get together give BJ a call and  reserve a date for your special event.  The dates are filling up fast so make a call this week before it's too late.

As always we're looking forward to seeing you at Buffalo Hill,

B J Newgard

Food & Beverage Manager
