I hope everyone's golf has been as good as the weather and playing conditions here at BHGC, if so you are shooting some awesome scores!!
This week is all about the upcoming Dick Seddon Memorial Scramble on Sunday, September 20th. If you have not yet entered your team, please do so by noon on Thursday, September 17th. It will be a day of fun golf in remembrance of a great guy!! To top it off, all proceeds will go towards capital improvements here at BHGC, just what Dick would have wanted!!
Other dates to watch for in the near future:
September 27th - Prostate Cancer Awareness Scramble on Champ 18
October 3rd - Flatfish High School Tournament on Champ 18
October 4th - Backwards Mixer on the Cameron 9
From the merchandise side of things we have been getting some great response to our annual demo club sale in the Pro Shop the past few days. Great buys on our 2009 demo clubs are to be had, so stop by before they are all gone!! Also our "end of summer" sale is continuing on all remaining in-stock merchandise, savings of at least 25% storewide!!
Thanks to all who have been dedicated to keeping BHGC in great shape by participating and promoting the following:
*Playing with the minimum number of motor carts needed in your group.
*Repairing ball marks and divots.
*Keeping your pace of play under 4 hrs and 20 minutes for 18 holes and under 2 hours 10 minutes for 9 holes.
*Reporting on course violations of good golf etiquette and proper motor cart operation.
It may not seem like much, but if we all follow the few basic guidelines, everyone's game will be more enjoyable!!
Tip of the week:
Check your posture to check your swing plane. Proper posture will promote an accurate, consistent on plane swing. Good golf posture is an "athletic position" much like a baseball or basketball player has when they are in balance with their arms hanging vertical to the ground. This will allow the body to make a repetitive motion and keep your swing on plane. If you are too far from the ball (too much bend at the hips and knees) your swing will be too flat and you will miss hit shots on the top and to the right. If you are too close to the ball (no bend at all in the hips or knees) your swing will be too upright and you will come over the top and hit deep divots with pulls and slices. So remember, good posture gives
your body a chance to make good swings.
See you on the course,
Dave, Marlin & Mike, BHGC Pro Shop Staff
